This was my first trip on Cayoosh mountain. I have only done The Big Esposito, but never got close to the peak. It is a cool area, and now I know why so many people are in this area.

Our trip started at 8:30 with freezing temperature of -21C°. Wind was not an issue at lower elevation, but it was definitely a big problem above 2100m.

We made it to the north ridge of Cayoosh. Wind was so strong and skiing off the peak did not look fun, so we did not get any closer. We were 100m below the true summit in elevation.

Wind had carried so much snow around. We found a recent natural avalanche on a convex roll in north aspect. We stayed on mellow terrain. Snow was surprisingly good.

first skiing off the north ridge
then off to the lower section

600 vertical meter skiing on a glacier was gorgeous.

Then we headed up east to ski down toward Marriott basin. We arrived on top of the ridge by 15:00 and skied toward Marriott Basin.

When finished skiing, we followed Wendy Thompson Hut trail. Then we forked right to go back to Cayoosh parking.

We were back to the parking around 17:30. Covering many terrains with this loop was a good option in the area.
