Avalanche danger rating on Avalanche Canada was considerable in alpine. We were all agreed on choosing a safe terrain to ski.

Going to Duffey lake road is a scenic drive. Sea to Sky is close to pacific ocean. Winter is usually not so cold. Pemberton gets many rainy days during winter, but landscape changes to white as you drive higher from Lilooet lake.

8:17 driving to Cerise creek trail head
9:10 crossing a new narrow bridge
9:40 going up winter trail
11:35 Mt. Howard looking gorgeous
Hiking up Vantage ridge can be hard depends on conditions. We were lucky this time. Snow was soft, and we picked a right path through the forest. It often becomes icy trail in lower section due to tree bombs and drips from trees.

We hiked down along the ridge top to the south to find safer slopes to ski. Then we skied to the east side of the ridge.

Skiing on east face was really good. We stayed in trees avoiding steep and big slopes. We got two laps on the east side, and came back to the ridge top by 14:55.

Checking snow on west face

Our last run on west face was “Cheque’s in the Mail”. We did not start from the top because it looked wind affected around the top. Snow was good till half way down, but lower half needed more snow. Lots of bushes still on its way.
After skiing Cheque’s in the Mail, we needed to skate and walk to get back on a winter route. We almost skied back to the bridge after old FSR.
