I went to Marriott basin in Cayoosh pass for backcountry skiing. It has been snowing for the last couple of days, and this day was the first sunny day. We only rode below tree line due to high avalanche risk.
I started around 9:00 from parking and arrived at the top of our run by 11:40. The top photo is where we started riding. Upper section of this face looked so good, but we did not go that high.
We went back up our track for another run. Day light time is really short at this time of year, but we had 2 good runs and went back to the parking by 15:50.
Snow condition was really good in trees. Alpine area was wind affected. Knowing where is good snow is the key for backcountry touring.
Our 2nd run was at 14:30, but the sun light looked like sunset.
