Jones Lake is BC Hydro’s water reservoir and also called as Wahleach lake. It is located just outside of Chilliwack. Access from Vancouver is really easy. You can take Hwy 1 going east from Vancouver and exit at EXIT 153. Then, you follow Laidlaw road about 800m. Jones creek FSR is on your right, which is the first right turn after exiting Hwy1 and goes to Jones lake. Jones creek FSR is a rough and steep road, so you need High clearance 4×4 to get to the lake.
I went to Wahleach lake on October 5th, 2015. I took this night photo at 21:00. The following morning, I took alpenglow on Cheam range over Wahleach Lake at 7:10. It was not busy at all in October. I guess it is busy in Summer because the lake is really close to Vancouver and beautiful.
I loved take photos of the lake and Cheam range in the back. I really recommed this area for recreation and as a photo opportunity!
I also liked to look down north from Jones creek FSR. Chilliwack is beautiful!
