August 18th – 21st

After the big snow storm, we had to stay around the base camp. 17th and 18th were the storm day, so we stayed inside tent almost all day. I was glad that I had a book and my tent buddy had some movies downloaded to his smart phone!!

On 19th, the weather got a little better. We had to go out. It was too boring to stay at the base camp. We went for cragging near the camp. There were nice steep routes which were not wet from snow.

The penguin was definitely the good one. The route was fun, but it was really cold and I could not feel my fingers on half way to the top…

While they were climbing, I was walking around the camp and took photos of mountains.

I could not stop taking photos because the fast moving cloud changed landscapes quick.

Marubo cleaning and racking gears for next good weather day

The weather forecast said that it would be clear from 22nd. We got gears ready for the day. Our plan was to fly out from the Cirque on 28th. We had to take any chances to make things happen.

Marubo and Yuki were the most motivated on this trip. Although we had tons of snow on the ground and the wall, they were always trying to do something or making plans for the next sunny day.

I was a bit nervous to go on the wall.

To be continued….
