Steep Creek is a famous sled access backcountry touring area, but anyone can walk in there. We did not use a snowmobile on this trip.
We hiked in and arrived at Darkside lake at 11:30, and then continued westward to reach above treeline. At 12:54, we came to the alpine and stopped around elevation of the 2000m by 13:15.

As we were about to ski down, clouds came in, and the light was gone… We hoped the sun would come out again, but we did not see it after waiting for a couple of hours.

It was impossible to shoot in alpine anymore. By 15:00, we decide to ski down in trees due to bad visibility and avalanche risk.

Skiing in trees was good at higher elevation, but the snow was thin and we could easily be dragged by small and fallen trees.

As we came back to a FSR trail, it was already past 19:00. Thanks to long daytime of Spring. It was a long day.
