Vantage Ridge in March 31st

North end of Vantage ridge

Vantage Ridge is one of my favourite area in Cayoosh Pass. It is close to highway and the peak elevation is 2020m, so snow is usually in good condition.

On this day, we started at 9:30am from Cerise creek parking, then gained to 1700m by 12:00. Hike up is 90% in steep forest. Route finding is the key for quick and easy ascending. We walked on our skis from the parking.

Tree line is about 1800m in Cayoosh pass. The view cleared when we passed 1700m elevation. We could see Duffey lake.

It is a long walk in forest, but the view above tree line is worth hiking up. You can see Cayoosh mountain, Duffey lake, Joffre peak, Mt. Matier, and more!

When we reached to north bowl of Vantage ridge, it was 13:00. I would say we were a bit slower than usual speed and it took us about 3 hours 30 minutes.

We started skiing the bowl right away.

We started our 3rd and last run at 15:00.

Then We came back to our cay by 16:00.
