I wish I can give you a trip timeline for you guys, but I did not record my trip this time. I can at least give you a time when I take these photos.
We started around 8:30 from Cayoosh parking lot. There is an obvious route going east from the parking and by a weather station. The trail merges to an old FSR.
From the FSR, we turned right and eventually walked upwards in a logging cut block. Then we hiked in steep forest on Joffre Shoulder.
I could see south side of Mt Chief Pascal in beautiful light.
By 12:30, I saw a nice view of west side of Joffre lakes. Traveling through steep forest was really difficult and took us way longer time than expected…
Since we did not have any clear object to ski, we had many short runs to take photos.
When we came near treeline, the weather turned to snow. we then skied northeast side of the ridge. Skiing this steep forest was really fun. There are so many features on way down.
I wrote this blog in 2021. I have not came back to this spot since this trip, but I will come back to this area for steep tree runs!
